My new live project working with 'MOO'

This project is to test our time keeping skills by working with a client,  we have been asked to produce 5 printed samples that could possibly be put on a Avant Garde garment. 'MOO' is a clothing boutique based in Barnsley, they make unique accessories, clothing, and leather bags. There designs and products are made from 100% natural fabrics that are beautiful and one of a kind. When I found out I was doing this project I felt privileged that my design could possibly feature on one of there garments especially designed for this project. The specifications for this project that they required were:

1. Avant Garde style garment print
2. marine invertebrate sea creatures
3. monochrome with one contrast colour
4. minimum of 5 A3 samples

We were asked to design it for spring/ summer 2014 this meant that I had to look at light summery colours and fabrics that were definitely in trend at the moment, I looked at textures, depth, layers, embroidery, fashion and fabric manipulation. Fabrics such as silk, muslin, cotton and devore fabric were all ideal for my chosen material whereas heavy material such as velvet would not fit the brief. Avant Garde simply means new, unique and experimental ideas. Invertebrate simply means animals/sea creatures without a backbone (spine).
