On the second of October I did my free machining session. I started with a piece of calico and put it in between an embroidery frame.Once I did that, I stretched it as tight as possible and tightened the screw. I then sewed a flower pattern using black thread. The machine model I used was BERNINA. I found this task quite difficult because I kept having to re-thread the machine but once I got the hang of it, it was successful.

(After) Machines used: Bernina, Bernina Record, free machining, embroidery hoop used, various colours of metalic thread, black cotton, material used: Calico, Stitch settings: straight, zigzag. I used the Bernina record machine to do the embroidery as I found that it was the most reliable machine to use, I then filled in the flower using metallic thread to give a clean finish to the design.
(Before) black cotton thread.
