Mini Evaluation Of Observational Drawings...

Favorite techniques: My favourite technique was the berol black fine liner with water drawing because when you start to add water onto the image the colour starts to bleed into different colours such as grey, purple and pink which looks absolutely beautiful, very effective but simple. Also white media on black card stands out effectively.

Worst techniques: My worst technique was the one using coloured marker pens because it looked like a child had drawn it because you cant get the shading or detail precise, in result of that it looks messy. Also the colours smudge easily.

What went well: I think I drew the images quite precisely with the media I was given and each looked uniquely different.

What went wrong: Some of the images were rushed and messy because I had limited time, however I did improve some of the images.

Most effective techniques: My most effective techniques were the ones with chalk because you can shade with white chalk on black card effortlessly making it look 3D. Also the scrunched up card image was very effective because the image drawn onto it was distorted giving it different textures from different medias.

Least effective techniques: My least effective technique was the pencil drawing because it was too bland, so I decided to add watercolour and berol fine liner with water to it which changed it dramatically.

Easiest to draw: The easiest to draw was the ink and stick image because it was free hand and didn't have to look perfect, in a way it makes it very abstract and unique to look at when you add a variety of colours.

Hardest to draw: The hardest to draw was the pencil drawing because the shapes were tricky to observe and draw, therefore my drawing looked animated.

How I could improve: The way I would improve my drawings would be to concentrate more and to add more time to each drawing, because this was an exercise it was all about experimenting with different media and time limits.

Overall this exercise was fun and interesting because each time, you got different results.
